Meeting of St Mary's Pastoral Council with Parish groups.
Meeting of St Mary's Pastoral Council with Parish groups.
On  Thursday May 13th, St Mary's Parish Pastoral Council met with a number of groups involved in the Pastoral life of the parish.
This was part of an initiative to allow the Parish Pastoral Council meet with groups to offer support and encouragement.
A huge amount of work is done by all these groups and it is so important to acknowledge this.
The Pastoral Council also wanted to see were their ways in which the groups could be further supported in their work and also to give a listening ear to concerns they might have.
It is true to say that there was a strong and robust discussion which gave a lot of food for thought.
What is very much in evidence is that there are a huge number of people working away in the background, doing good work and praying for all of us.
Without them the life of our community and parish would be so much poorer.
There is also room for more people to be involved, new members are always welcome to join the parish groups.
To this end , an Open Day for all parish groups will be held in St Mary's Parish Centre on Sunday June 20th when the groups will have stalls and displays outlining the work they do and will have members available to give information and answer any queries.
Many thanks to all who came on the night to share with us and many thanks especially to Anne Beales and her team for the Hospitality and refreshments.
