Apostolic Work began in 1923 with the purpose of assisting missionaries by prayer and in a material way. The objects of the Apostolic Work are in essence the same today as in 1923 i.e. to share in the missionary apostolate of the Church by prayer, and by providing material needs to those areas where the Church is not fully established.
Apostolic work is unique in the sense that the members make, with their own hands, the vast bulk of the very practical material requirements requested by Missionary Priests and Nuns. An annual exhibition of some of the work made by this branch is held in the Parish Centre in Lucan in the autumn of each year. That occasion, combined with a cake sale and raffle generate much needed funds to help pay for materials used in the making of vestments
